AHH so nervous about doc appmnt tomorrow!

Well I have another appointment tomorrow and I am just scared senseless:(  I feel like the baby is ok and all, its my stupid blood pressure Im worried about. I had an anxiety attack last night just thinking about it. It lasted for hours! Ugh! I know 138/70 isnt/wasnt horribly bad, as the nurse didnt even say anything about it til I asked what it was. Her and the doc both said it was "high normal" adn considering the morning I had before I went in, to def. not worry about it. Uh huh- yea right!  Im scared now Im destined for pre eclampsia or something. Ive never had it, but htats a fear with me being older now :(  Has anyone elses got that high just from being nervous at the docs? Sorry for the vent, just hoping to get some reassurance. I was so scared last night, I contemplated not going tomorrow. ( dumb i know)  Well thanks ladies!  Hope everyone is well!

I think my blood pressure sky-rocketed during our ttc and early pregnancy but for some reason settled down in the normal range in the 2nd/3rd trimesters - weird, I know.  I too was worried about pre-eclampsia because of my age but everything turned out great.  The other posters are right - stress can increase you blood pressure HUGELY!  You definitely need to relax & do the deep-breathing stuff - try sitting down and put your head between your knees and taking some breathes - it helps w/hyperventilating which is what I do when I'm having those nasty attacks - good luck!!!  I'm sure everything will be okay - jen

Look at it this way...

So your blood pressure - taken that one day - was - high..NORMAL

There are wide ranges in "NORMAL".  What's normal...if someone is 5'4 tall, their normal weight range can be anywhere from, oh 120 lbs. to 130 lbs....

So your blood pressure was high NORMAL.

And didn't your dr. say "not to worry about it"?  So Don't worry about it!

Good luck tomorrow:)

Hon, you need to try your best to relax.  I bet your high blood pressure is coming from all the stress you are putting yourself through.  You are already past the "worse case scenario".  This baby is doing great!!  So as Pamela said, take deep cleansing breathes and maybe get DH to give you a nice backrub or something.  Focus on your body being all healthy, and that little bean growing all big and strong!!  Your going to be ok...I know how worried you must be, just wait until I am BFP again, I will be moving right in to the ultrasound room!!  But you have that perfect heartbeat and last two checks everything was great.  Try to relax, and take good care of yourself!!

Hugs,

Amanda

Everything is going to be just fine!  Your worries are natural, but try not to let them affect you physically...you don't need that added pressure.  If you feel overwhelmed and anxcious, try to take some deep long breaths and just relax...Your mind can really play havoc with your body, so just go with it, and think the best, stay positive, stay calm and focused and enjoy your amazing pregnancy!!!  And, keep us posted!
