Amnio Tomorrow Morning!

I can't believe the big day is almost here.  I'm nervous as heck, but also looking forward to just getting it over with and the results back.  I also get to find out if it's a boy or a girl - I think.  It's gotta be pretty accurate at 16w, right?

Please keep your fingers crossed!  Nothing like starting the day with a three inch needle jammed through your gut!

Good news is I get to watch the ultrasound for about a half hour!

congrats on your boy!!!   as far as changing your due date.... my ob/ doesn't change it unless its off by more than a week... otherwise just stays with date of LMP.

So glad the amnio went fine. And congrats on the Boy. Sure seems like there are a lot of boys due next spring. Let us know the results when they arrive!

Hi ladies -

Amnio went just fine.  In fact my docs are claiming 1 in 1800 risk for m/c with both amnio and CVS which is a lot lower than they thought!

The doc said everything looks perfect.  No markers, etc.  He said he "had a good feeling about it" but also said that unfortunately Downs can have no sign.

AND, IT'S A BOY!!!  DH is thrilled.  He is also measuring 5 days bigger than I thought at 16w4d.  I think you're  just supposed to stick with your original due date, right?

I broke down and got the FISH test. Prelim results on Tuesday. The councelor said full results could actually take 2 weeks, so it's worth it to me.

SO how was it?  I loved your visual of the HUGE needle jammed in your back....ugh I hate needles.
Hope it went well and you are able to get the results next week... I kinda agree 3 days $300 just think what you could buy for your lil one ....I'm a WORRY WORT but more than that I am a shopaholic so I'd rather shop LOL

I might have them a week from tomorrow.

I'm still debating whether or not to do that FISH test, which gives you prelim results.  The nurse said because I'm having the amnio on a Friday, I probably wouldn't get the FISH until Tues.  She said there's a good chance I'll have the FULL results by that Friday, so I guess 3 days isn't worth $300!

Then again, I might have to wait over that next weekend to get the full results, which would stink.

What would you do?  Fortunately, we could afford the FISH...

Good luck.  I chickened out of my amnio and still wonder sometimes if I should have just done it.

I'm sure everything will be fine!  Can't wait to hear the results!
