I am 5w, 3d pregnant, and just had my 4th hcg blood test. My numbers are doubling, but every 72 hours, not 48 hours. My doctor is a very well-respected RE, and he thinks the pregnancy is almost certainly failing. Most of what I read online (including the American Pregnancy Association website) says that hcg levels ideally doubleDouble-tussin dm every 48-72 hours (in 85% of normalNormal saline flush pregnancies). So my numbers doubling every 72 hours appears to me to be within the range of normalNormal saline flush. Has anyone else had numbers that doubled in 72 hours, and how did your pregnancy turn out? Thanks!
My RE told me that 60% increase in 48hr is the lowest recorded increase with viable pg. I think he actually said one time that it was 58% but that he rounds it up to 60.
good luck to you... I really hope it works out for you.. I'll be looking for your updates..
it depends on what your #s are. When they reach a higher number, like 10,000 (not sure of the exact number) it absolutely takes longer for the number to doubleDouble-tussin dm. When mine went from 34476 to 46.5k, that was in 40 hours and I found out my doubling time was 86.5 hours. My NP told me that it can take 72-96 hours for the number to doubleDouble-tussin dm once you're higher. When I was tested at 34476 I was 6.3 days.
