Anyone start dilating/effacing at 37 weeks or before???

My OB told me today that as soon as my cervix starts to ripen he can induce, but wont do it before. I will be 37 weeks on Friday, and he said he will start checking my cervix from next week. I know everyone is different, but what are the chances I could have started dilating or effacing by 37.5 weeks? This will be my first baby and I just want him out!!!

Did anyone have a cervix which was starting to 'ripen' by 37 weeks?

my cervix started to efface at 30 weeks! I ended up being induced at 37 weeks due to high bp and kidney problems.. i had a healthy baby girl weighing 6 lbs 5 ounces!

I walked around for several weeks at 2cm before my babies were born. Every pregnancy is a little different with dilation and effacement. Best wishes!

i had a check last thursday at 37 weeks and i was 2cm dilated, 25% effaced, i lost my plug, had sex everyday and still no baby!!!!  another exam tomorrow and i am praying something has moved forward!!  I am very anxious as well.  best wishes.  maybe we will all have 080808 babies!!!

I was 3cm and 50% effaced at 35 weeks delivered at 35.1 ! hope you go .. Good luck =)

well i am still holding in after appt that showed i was 2 1/2 to 3cm dilated and 75% effaced!!!  Can you believe it?  i will be induced after next week if he still hangs in there.  I am shocked...I was kinda hoping it woulda happened.
