BFP @ 4 days after IUI

We have been trying to have a baby for a year with one chemical pregnancy back in November 09.  I have been diagnosed with PCOS and I am 36 years old.  I have had 2 live births (1996 and 1999) and a total of 3 miscarriages.  I have always had irregular periods and even got pregnant on the pill (ended in miscarriage in 1996).
Sooo, we knew this could be a special journey at my age and crazy cycles...

My last period started October 1, so we just took our second round of clomid (100mg)from Oct 5 thru Oct 9.  I had an LH surge on Sunday, October 10. took the Ovidrel shot Sunday night, went in for IUI Monday morning and again on Tuesday morning, (Oct 11 and 12).  I am assuming I ovulated on Sunday or Monday, CD 17 or 18. I have been nauseaus, favorite foods making me sick, lightheaded, tired and very crampy in my lower abdomen...my husband has been teasing me that I am pregnant and I am telling him NO WAY am I having these symptoms this early... so I started reading online and our of pure curiosity (knowing it would be negative even IF I am indeed pregnant) I took a test.... it has two lines... I am wondering if it could be because of the Ovidrel shot or something still lingering in my body ..I am due to begin Prometrium and Lovenox tonight... please give some insight as to why I would see a positive result when it is just too early to tell even if I am actually pregnant!

I will tell you that it's pretty uncommon to get a positive 4 days after ovulation.  It takes that long just to implant if things move quickly.  I hate to say this, but it is likely that the Ovidrel is creating a false positive.  HCG is the same hormone that triggers a positive on a pregnancy test.  I don't mean to be a downer, just being honest.  I sure hope you do get a positive, but it might be best to wait at least another week.

Good luck to you!!

I have been told that the Ovidrel (which is HCG) can stay in your system for a while so it is best to wait to test for a true positive.  But heres hoping you are pregnant!
