Dear Ruby;

Thank you for your comment. May I ask how old was your friend? I am scared due to my age.

a dear friend of mine terminated a pregnancy in january due to trisomy 21, and she is now pregnant again with a perfectly healthy baby, at 23 weeks.

i can understand your anxiety. i have two weeks to go until my scan, and depending how that goes i may do CVS, or otherwise will wait for amnio. it is agonizing if i let myself think about it too much, so i try to just put it out of my mind as much as possible and hope for the best. i hope for the best for you, too.

One woman was 40 and the other one, a friend of my sister's, was only 30.  Both of them went on to have healthy babies the following year. The 40-year old did not have any medical intervention (ie, she conceived naturally) and gave birth to a healthy girl when she was just shy of 42.

Now that I think about it, I also knew another woman who was friends with an ex of mine whose baby died in her womb of trisonomy 18.  I've lost touch with her and I don't know whether she had any further children, but she did have a toddler when I knew her.  I'm guessing that she was around 32-34.  She could have even been younger: I know for sure that she was not over age 35.

Selenhep, I know SO MANY women your age who had healthy pregnancies and babies!!  I swear to you, within my circle of acquaintances, most of the women had their babies in their late 30s!  From my vantage point, you are young!  I am 42 and my twin sister is due to give birth next month.  So please stay positive:)

I am so sorry you had to go through that loss.  Please, please stay positive about this little one.  I know two women who suffered your loss and both went on to have healthy babies with their next ones.

I'm sending you good thoughts for your little one and the next 9 months!

Congratulation.... the first trimester try to take it easy due to it's a critical time... if you can bed rest... just bed rest... after 12 weeks, then the risk is less..

Good luck to you and happy 9 months journey..

Congratulations on your pregnancy.  I too had a pregnancy end 2 years ago due to T21.   I am now 13 weeks pregnant and was scared to death, until yesterday when I got clear test results on my CVS test.  Phew.

I'm wishing you the best health for the baby this time around.   Take care of your self and *try* not to worry.

Hi there,
I know it's very stressful but I just turned 40 and had my daughter at 38.  I then got pregnant again in December and miscarried due to Trisomy 22.  I'm pregnant again and I'm 13 weeks and we just had the NST ultrasound and the results came back great!  I asked the genetic specialist if I should be worried about this pregnancy since the last one was Trisomy 22 and he said no that it doesn't work that way.  I'm sure you'll be just fine!  Congrat's!
