Belly Support at 17 weeks?

My belly muscles feel very tired and sore especially at the level of my belly button.  Im 17 weeks.  I want support around my middle, not the bottem like the pics of belly support show.  Im thinking of getting the post partum band cause it gives support where I want it.  My concern is will this weaken my belly muscles? Or harm me in some way?  I am barely showing but feel uncomfotable.

I used one from 16 weeks til it became uncomfortable about 24 weeks. I still use it from time to time. I had mine issued to me from my ob. My insurance paid for it and it was customized for me.  I hear it helps some women and doesn't others. Always worth a shot.

Went to see the doctor he said it was safe though unusual this early to feel that way that I was doing fine.  My mother tells me its bad for my muscles but im sticking with what my dr said.  Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I think the use of a belly support would be very helpful.  Not only will it help prevent strained muscles,  but will also make your pregnancy more enjoyable.  At the stage I'm at (33 weeks),  I wish I had a body support...lol
