Can heart bit rate tell you the baby’s sex?

Hi all,

An ultrasound technician told me that, I am going to have a boy at 21st weeks. And heart bit rate was 136- 137 per minutes. Is it possible to have a boy like that heart bit rate?

Best regards,
Sue

my midwife gave me guess based on the baby's heart bit which was up to 154 but I told her she had the wrong guess ad I had a gender scan at 18 weeks and I was told is 90% boy!

Was the ultrasound tech looking at the baby's anatomy when she gave you the gender and due date? I would be very surprised if an ultrasound technician gave a guess on gender based only on the heartbeat.

You've got a 50/50 chance of being right :) .  Heart rates for both of mine were correct.  Boy was under 140 girl was over 160.   This one though...156...leaning towards a girl maybe?  Have fun.

When I was prego w/ my daughter (18 yrs ago) they swore it was a boy by the hb.  Well, she wasn't.  When I was prego w/ my son ( 2+yrs ago) he was around 135 and now pregnant w/ my son due in August his hb is around 154.  I don't think you can go by the hb.  If you are 21 weeks, haven't you had the ultrasound yet??  That would be a definite way to tell.

Yea heartbeat and gender have no corrleation. That tech really needs to go back to school and keeps her wives' tales at home.

Everything I have heard and read says you cannot tell the sex from heart rate. I am pg with both a boy and a girl, and their heart rates are about the exact same, around 145 bpm.

back in 1971, when my Mom was pg with me, they said I was goig to be a boy based on the heart rate, and well. . .I wasn't!

They really should be able to look and find the little "parts" at this stage. I believe that is more reliable. I am sure you are anxious to know, so I hope you find out soon!
