Cervical exam later in pregnancy

What does the routine exam feel like when they check your cervix to see how you're progressing? I heard it's very painful.

Thanks

I have my cervix checked every 3 weeks, but they just do an internal ultrasound, look at the length, press on my lower belly to see if it opens, and then they are done.   It doesn't hurt at all...

yea i'm talking about the later pregnancy check when say you're 37 weeks. My coworkers said it was so painful.(2-3 fingers through the cervix). I had ENOUGH things through my cervix that I'm not looking forward to it.

I too have a titled uterus plus a "crooked cervix". Supposedly the tilt does away during pregnancy temporarily but that crooked cervix? Not so much.

I am going to have my cervix checked at my 19wk sonogram, the "big" one since it will be more detailed.  I have yet to hear that it is painful.  My understanding was that they will measure my cervix via the sonogram.

If I hear or read anything different, I will let you know.
