Cervical shortening

Any other women with this condition. I have lost a child in NICU. This pregnancy is going well enough and I believe I know what my issue has been along- same issue that causes PCOS, PMDD, Fibroids, many miscarriages, infertility, irregular periods, spotting, etc... ESTROGEN DOMINANCE.

I would really love to talk to women for whom 17p doesn't work for.

Thanks for the reply. I have had a couple minor procedues done on my cervix, but do not think I have IC. After my daughter,  whose pregnancy wasn't exactly easy, my body went down hill. Breastfeeding was difficult and I suffered from many issues. 2 unsuccessful pregnancies (including my preemie who passed) and I realized I might possibly be on the low range of progesterone (almost 36), but more than anything I have estrogen dominance.  For those who don't benefit from 17p, it may be because of same reason.

I'm not going to recommend supplements, but eating LOTS of cruciferous veggies ( or probably a few servings of cold organic sauerkraut) a day can help metabolize excess estrogen (really bad bad estrogens - mimicers,  not good ones). Estrogen out of whack can mess up the entire endocrine system. P17 is nothing compared to the progesterone your body produces.

Progesterone can keep the cervix closed, the belly calm.

I'm 25w4d. I am on a supplement, diindolylmethane(dim), and have been since a couple mos. pregnant. I would have stuck to veggies, but I'm disgusted my them in pregnancy (love fruit though). I have 3 docs amazed at how well I'm doing this time around. No studies on pregnant women can be found. But I think it's a f**king miracle!

no cerclage, no pessary, no procardia, no early rhogam shots b ecause of abnormal bleeding, no horrific round ligament pain, no cervical shortening WHILE on it, etc...

I was told to start 17p because of my history by ob who forced me into the high risk clinic. I told him I was fine, but complied. I stopped dim the same day as 17p, around 21w. 3w later I was contracting and my cervix had shorten from 3cm to 2cm. They expected my to pPROM again. I resumed the dim and a week later, my cervix was back to normal and I no contractions.

The changes in my body started before pregnancy.  This stuff makes me healthy, mentally and physically.  it's what makes broccoli a super food.

I had a cerclage due to incompetent cervix. Not sure if its the same thing but my cervix won't hold baby in. It was shortening and opening at 17 weeks. But now its staying shut lol im 38 weeks and havent dilated anymore.
