Contraceptive pills

Dear Doc, I am currently on contraceptive pills (for a few yrs already) not for birth control purpose, but to control menstruation flow ( I have an endrometriosis history), I am supposed to start a new cycle tomorrow (4 May), since I will be going for an overseas trip in end May, I am thinking of postponing my new pack of pills to 2 weeks later (18/5) so that I would not have my menstruation in the middle of my trip. May I ask if it will be alright to delay my new pack (21 pills) by 2 weeks? would I notice any changes to my body? Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer my questions.

Hi cmoretti, thank you so much for the info, I am taking Diane35 which is a 21-pill pack, so does it mean that after I finish my first pack of 21 pills, I should continue to start a 2nd pack immediately? without any interval?
Thanks again, just need to make sure I understand you correctly. :)

I'm not a doctor but I have been told by a doctor that the way to do it is to start your new pack as usual BUT do NOT take the last 7 pills (if your pack has 28 pills in them) Instead, when you get to those last 7 pills, start a new pack of pills with day 1. (this way you have continuous hormones in your system) This will make your body skip your period for that month. Starting your pills two weeks late might screw up your cycle and might not work. It would more likely result in breakthrough bleeding which you don't want.
