Like Heather said, it's normal to have tiny clots w/AF. I got it this month too. Which I didn't expect at all, since I was on Clomid & was told it would make my period late (it didn't!) & that it would be lighter, & it wasn't! I had a bunch of little tiny blood clots, & it was dark blood the first day & really gooey SORRY for all the info girls! LOL
Anyway, I am pretty sure for me this month I had a little pregnancy that didn't take. I had 2 faint +'s & my nipples were SOOO SOOOO sore, & I got several BAD BAD episodes of heart burn, both of which only happens to me in early pregnancy, pretty much they are my only signs in all my pg's!
BUTTTTTT, when I had endo, pre lap surgery, I was having blood clots during AF, thats one of the reasons I had gone to my ob, cuz that was not the norm for me.
I too was on baby aspirin for a few month, & it never made a difference that I noticed. I am off of it now though, just because I don't have any factors, but my ob just said to to take it "just in case"
Good luck ;)
Thanks for the info Heather - my OB said there were some clues but, nothing definite. If positive for blood clotting then he'd have me on Heparin. I'm hoping that baby aspirin will be good enough - not looking forward to giving myself needles. Not sure about getting dh to do it, I've watched him put his contact lenses in - he's pathetic - he's got to take several "jabs" before he gets one in. He hasn't put them in for 2 months now - good thing he got a free trial pair - lol . Of course it won't be himself he'll be sticking needles in....I'll keep you posted on my results - 26th - nervous...
I can TOTALLY relate to the crazy mind games! As for Factor V (full name is Factor V Leiden), it's a blood clotting disorder that affects the way the blood coagulates. It's inherited, and I would have never known about it had it not been for my cousin having a deep vein thrombosis a few years back (her dad and my dad are identical twins). I've been on baby aspirin since my first miscarriage, every day, and now that I'm pregnant, I'm on Lovenox. From what I've learned, Lovenox is a little more effective than heparin, and you only need to take one shot a day instead of two. However, since Lovenox has a much longer half life, I need to switch to heparin once I get closer to delivery (they do not want blood thinners in your system at delivery). Let me know if you have any other questions, especially after you get your results back.
Thanks Heather and Amanda,
I guess I'm just being paranoid - I had been hoping for a bfp then AF came and then you know, can't help but wonder if maybe ...just maybe....another m/c ....( slapping self now )....mind games I torture myself with. I can't remember if I had small clots back then before the m/c - maybe I did - I guess I have a selective memory. I will check with the doc anyway just to cross it of my paranoid list. Heather5 - what is Factor V ? Are you on Heparin ? I'm going back to get results whether I have a blood clotting disorder - which is why I started taking low dose aspirin. Amanda, wahooooo - you're coming along great - just pick a bunch of names you both like and then when you actually see his face when he pops out - the name will unscramble itself.
As far as I can tell, the baby asprin never impacted AF for me. It's a blood thinner, so if anything I would think it would help prevent clots...that is the reason for taking it during pregnancy. I would maybe check with your Dr. though just to be certain. I would be curious to know myself. Take care and happy bd'ing...your turn is coming girlfriend!!
I'm not sure if baby aspirin affects your period or not...but either way, small "clots" is totally normal and nothing to worry about. Basically, your lining is made up of blood but also other types of cells, so when the lining sheds, it's not uncommon to get some clots as well.
Good luck with your test results. I've been on baby aspirin for quite a while now, but now that I'm pregnant I'm also on a blood thinning shot, since I have Factor V.
