Egg Quality and Drugs

by bc729, Jun 21, 2008 11:08AM
Hi.....

I just turned to 36 few months ago and I am trying to get preganant.  I am doing CCCT and my doc left me message about the result of my blood work.  The blood work is for FSH and estradiol.  It sounds like that I do not have good quality of eggs because they wanted one of results to be over 1.5 but mine is only 0.6.  I doubt it is FSH because the lower FSH, the better, right?  It sounds like estrogen level is too low.  Does this make sense to any of you guys? If so, do any medicines help to improve egg quality?  I am not sure if Clomid will help the egg quality.

Thanks a bunch!

FSH measures ovarian reserve but can affect egg quality.  If your FSH is above 10 it's considered high.  Estradiol levels are around 50 during AF and 400 per mature follicle during ovulation.  I never heard of estradiol levels that low.  You should call your dr and ask about your #s again.
Clomid can help egg quality especially if you O early.
Good luck!
