Elevated Liver Enzymes in Pregnancy

by L J, Sep 26, 2007 11:15PM
I am 6w 2d pregnant and I just got my bt back showing elevated liver enzymes. They were tested because my skin started itchy all over a couple of days ago. My HCG levels are also very high-possibly twins, but U/S is booked for Oct 3rd. In addition, I have high blood pressure. Should I be concerned about the elevated liver enzymes? I have read about a condition in pregnancy that happens to 1% of women but usually in the last trimester.

Cholestasis of Pregnancy is the name of the possible condition. Has anyone heard of this?

I have heard of it but never so early on in pregnancy.  Have you discussed it with your doc?
