when they are that little the movement is sometimes against the placenta, which you might not feel.

Movement is only felt when it pushes against something external (skin and other more sensitive organs), so at 20 weeks, the kicks aren't all that strong.

25 weeks or so sounds about right for strong regular movement.

lol... and after that you're telling them to stop it and let mummy sleep!!!!

I am 25 weeks pregnant with my second baby, with my first I felt her kick for the first time at 14 weeks and with this baby I felt the first flutters at 12 weeks. Right now with this pregnancy I feel the baby move like crazy some day's and others she just sits there and does not move at all. I was concerned about this as well and asked my DR and he said that it was normal and it could be due to how she is sitting. I am carrying her in the breach position and she is laying really low in my hips and laying across ''side to side''  I do feel a lot of pressure the same pressure I felt when I was in labor with my first and was about to give birth, so this baby is laying very very low and is not intending on moving from this position at all.
I have tried to count the movements of the baby but with her not moving at all for some day's it's near impossible to do this. I also go in every 2 weeks because the baby is so low in my pelvis and the DR always checks her heart rate and he has always told me she has a strong heat beat and the ultrasounds look perfect and as long as her heart and the ultrasound are great there is no need to worry, that around this time in the pregnancy the baby is doing a lot of growing and it is not uncommon for the baby to not move before, during, or after a growth spell and sometimes all three.
I would just make sure your OB is on top of things and I would insist on having him/ her check the baby's heart beat at every visit and if you are able to I would request an ultrasound if you feel you need to see your baby so your mind can be put at ease and your worries can be settled. Good Luck with everything

I am 20 weeks with my 3rd as well and only feel the baby once in a while right now, and some days more than others. I think it may depend on the way baby is positioned. I just felt a kick on my side, but last night baby must have been turned inward and was using my bladder as a kicking target. At my last ultrasound, they said the placenta was in front this time, so I would not feel as much movement as I did with my other two. Check with your doctor if you are concerned, but I think kick counting doesn't usually start until around 26-28 weeks.
