I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and just found out I have the flu. My OB put me on Tamiflu but my primary said she wasn't sure about it. Has anyone been on this while pregnant? I'm worried it's going to hurt the baby. Also it did get the flu vaccine, I was only a couple weeks pregnant so I didn't know but I'm a little mad they push a vaccine that obviously doesn't work.

The flu vaccine does work but unfortunately this year's strains make it less effective. You do still get some protection though, so it's good you got it. My Dr mentioned keeping an eye on my temp, in case it turned out to be the flu (wasn't, thankfully) so that they could give tamiflu in time, if needed.

Hope you are better soon!

Flu vaccine does not work.  But Tamiflu is safe.  Rest with plenty of fluids and it shall pass.

Agree with vaccine & tamiflu.  Influenza can be deadly, especially to high risk groups like moms, seniors, newborns. Be glad medicine is helping, rest, don't worry about side effects if OB prescribed.

The flu vaccine does work. There is overwhelming evidence to that fact. You are better off for having gotten it overall. However, this year, one of the strains of flu has mutated and we are seeing more flu cases. The warmer than usual temps don't help either because that means more people out in close contact with others. You may actually experience fewer or less severe symptoms for having gotten the vaccination. As far as Tamiflu, yes, it is safe during pregnancy. I have taken it myself. Hope you feel better soon.
