I am having a hard time getting pg, and would be blessed either way of course, boy or girl,  but does anyone have ANY ideas to conceive a girl?  I have heard taking clomid has higher girl babies than boys.  ????????????????

Well we didn't really plan on getting pg yet, but my dh had a lil slip up and it happened on the day I o'd.  That was the only day he slipped............lol  And we are having a boy.  I don't know if that really has anything to do with it.  This is our second child together, first is dd.  We were trying for her.  This one we were discussing trying in a few months, but getting him earlier than planned and just as happy.

Well, research says that if you time things just right, you might have a better chance at a girl than a boy.  Girl sperm apparently swim slow, but last longer, so if you time sex a day or two before you ovulate, you increase your chances of a girl.  Boy sperm swim fast, but don't live as long, so if you time sex on the day you ovulate, you have more chances of a boy.  I'm not really sure how accurate this research is, but I've got some friends that have tested the theory and it seems to pan out.

One sure fire way is to, as someone said, "spin the sperm."  You can actually pay to have male and female sperm separated and then get inseminated with just one kind.  I thought about doing this but it's about $5000 a shot and since I had fertility issues, it was too much money to take a chance on.

Otherwise, I think you're stuck leaving it up to fate!

I have no  clue but can tell you I have one son and two daughters and pregnant with a girl. My oldest daughter is researching this very same subject. She has two girls and would like a boy. By the way, she is 21 and has a very good job, just to offset funny ideas. I am a recovering teen mom, lol, trying one more time at 39.
I wish you luck either way.

I found your comment to be funny, we decided to spin the sperm, it just sounds like it should be a game at a fair.. congrats on your girl...

If you end up doing IVF you can spin the sperm for an increase chance of a girl. We were doing IVF anyway, decided to spin the sperm because my husband has 5 boys (2 with me and 3 from a previous marriage). I'm 34 weeks pregnant with a girl. Good luck!

Unfortunately there are no surefire ways to determine gender. Some old wives tales may increase odds of one gender or another, but no way select for certain. Best wishes for a happy, healthy baby, whichever gender.

Well I always heard that if your partner eats a lot of spicy food then you will have a girl. That's why I heard Indians have more girls than boys. That's what I am going to try if I ever choose to get pregnant again.

Funny...I'm trying to conceive a boy and I have heard many techniques and tips on doing such in hopes of conceiving the gender of choice...Actually, if I listed all of what I've heard and read, it would take hours...just go on line and google "Trying to conceive a girl" or "Choose your baby gender" and lots of stuff will appear...Skim through all the info, and take it all in, and decide what works best for you...I think from what I've read, having intercourse days before you ovulate will be a good chance to have a girl.  If you know your cycles, fertility, etc...try to have sex days prior to ovulation.  Good luck!!
