I had my last baby at 38, all natural and it wasn't harder then any of my other babies. And i had a 10lb 5oz baby and he was the easiest i reckon out of all of them, and he was natural also.
I was induced. Tried to go semi natural. They put the pitocin in twice, for 12 hours each time. I remained at 3 cm for 2 days. I stayed true to the natural position until they stuck the balloon in on the 3rd day and I started having horrible contractions. And you will know what contractions feel like! That's when I screamed for the epi. I'm so glad because watching the hundreds of contractions go across the computer screen and me not feel a thing was a godsend. The 4th day of labor and stuck at 5cm, they threatened c section. My doula advised me to switch positions. So I lowered the epi. A few hours later when baby's head pushed on my pelvic bone, I felt everything! I screamed for them to increase the epi. They said no, because epi can't help the pressure. I felt the overwhelming sudden urge to take a dump/push but I wasn't 10cm yet. Nurse said it would take 3 hours to go from 7-10cm. Im glad she was a liar because 20 minutes later I was pushing baby out. No way after 4 days of labor could I last another minute with that pushing pain. So I envy the women who weren't induced and was out in a few hours with baby. Lucky you!
Oh God...I just hope to go natural. This is my first baby and I have no clue of what is the delivery pain like. I saw videos of natural birth and others and all the women screams and look in real pain. I asked a couple of friends they said is like a period cramp or like pooping hard. I said well I don't even know how bad a period pain can be. My periods were always painless.
Its your own preference, have 5 weeks left on no. 4 and hopefully she will be natural like my others...my first two were 8lb 10 and my third was 10lb 8, had no pain relief on any of them but labours were quick......doctor saying this baby may weigh the same...not going natural has never crossed my mind....obviously I have a good pain threshold.
weigh out the pros and cons for yourself because at the end of the day its what is comfortable for you.
good luck x
When I had my first I began to feel pressure as the epidural was wearing off, I kindly asked the nurse to get the anesthesiologist so he can tweak my epidural. She said that feeling pressure is normal, and I said no pressure = pain, so he tweaked epidural and I didn't feel a thing!!!! It was the most pleasant delivery for a ftm. I'm hoping I can have the same experience this second time around.. I hope!!
I got 3 weeks left and going natural !!
Hi I had my first baby 2 weeks ago and opted for the epidural. It was good and allowed me to rest and relax but don't be fooled when that baby moves past the pelvic bone and the contractions are in your vagina not your lower abdomen anymore you feel the pain!! The epidural maybe takes the edge off but you feel it at least that was my experience. There is no easy way out. Lol best wishes to you. If natural is what you want tho go for it you can do it .
I had all 3 of my children natural , nothing against people who don't want all the pain though, I didn't have much of a choice all my children were preemie so wasn't allowed meds (14+ yrs ago) Am due with baby #4 and had though about epidural ect but was told I will not be allowed because of my chronic csf leak , so natural it is again !
Thanks ladies. Oh and I remember wht it felt like. To b honest I loved it. I guess I'll start praying now and get my mind focused wht the hey he's my last. I'll keep y'all posted
