It's not a good idea. I had one in Feb. and they did a pregnancy test (through blood work) the day before and advised me to wait. They are injecting dye into your system. In any event, they will typically wait until between 10 days after O and AF to ensure you did not conceive, or in first week of cycle, and definately not a good idea to try that month. Best of luck to you. HSG was not the most fun I ever had, but was not too bad either.

Thank you for your comment. I wanted to see what responses I would get here as I was not sure if it would be safe. My concern was the dye in my system, how long does it take to clear out and would pregnancy be safe and possible.

I am not sure how long exactly it takes to clear out. But I was advised to wait until after that AF. It could very well be one of those things where different Dr.'s give different opinions, so see what yours has to say. I would be really curious to know as well, if you don't mind sharing his/her opinion.
