Here is the thing I am worrying about... my cervix slightly open... There is some blood still in or around the cervix that will come out later.. doctor puts me bedrest until next monday for another checkup. If the cervix is still open by 12 weeks... She will put some stitches in the cervix to keep it close. I am scare and do not know what to do... Is there anyone out there might have same problem as i am? Please share with me. I tried so hard to be pregnant and now I don't want to loose this baby...
I am not to sure about the cervix being partly open and having stitches because that never happened to me. But there are women on this site that have that procedure done. If I am not mistaken it is called a cerclage. Tanker Chic had one of these put in not to long ago and she is on bedrest now. She might be the best person to talk to.
It really sounds like your doctor is on top of things and that is great!!!
Just keep those feet up and keep thinking that all will be well!!!
I had an emergency cerclage put in at 17 to 18wks.. i was already 4cm dilated..
It is much better to do them as preventative cerclage at around 12 to 14wks instead of emergency cerclage like I had.. The success rate with preventative cerclage is very high... I also know a girl who had one after loosing a baby due to incompetent cervix.. she had a very successful pg and didn't need to be on bed rest or anything..
I would highly recommend, asking or just switching to a perinatal (high risk) center.. They will do regular ultrasounds of your cervix to make sure it isn't thinning out..
I can't say I have had quite this experience personally, but I have had lots of spotting this pregnancy. So far so good! I am sending lots of positive thoughts your way.
So far I have no more bleeding since Wednesday... I am on bed rest and will have another appointmnet on Monday... I over heard that my OB doctor said that by 12 weeks if my cervix is not close... she will put stitches to close my cervix... Monday I come back they will do u/s on my cervix and baby... I think she did aware of high risk pregnancy.... Thank you all.... I need to stay positive and stay strong.....
