I spoke to my Dr about it and she looked back through my history which showed this condition had been noted at previous Pap smears, I remember it being mentioned but because she said it was nothing to worry about I never thought about it again.  She said that because the cells growing on the cervix are from inside the uterus they are full of tiny blood vessels, any type of trauma or irritation, such as sex or bearing down during bowel motions, can make these little blood vessels burst causing the spotting. I am sooo relieved!!

Wow.  It doesn't sound serious so that is really good.  Even better is that you were able to pinpoint the reason.  I hate the "not knowing".  How did they find that?  Did your doctor start investigating because of the spotting?  Did ultrasound show that sort of thing?

Just discovered today that I have an ectropion cervix also known as cervix errosion.  It's nothing major just means the inner lining of the uterus is growing on the outer surface of the cervix, this is the probable cause of the spotting i have been having, I feel soooo relieved now that I know this!!!

Its not uncommon at all to bleed in first trimester.  I have actually bled off and on throughout this whole pregnancy and so far so good...coming up to 30 weeks.  If your levels are rising like that and you have no cramping, chances are it's fine.  I know how scary it is though.  I wish you well.

I had my HCG bloods done again and result is great at 1479 up from 331, 3 days ago, yaaay!  Had another episode of red spotting after bowel motion this morning but I'm feeling better about it as I have read others have had the same with no further complications, the rise in HCG has also reassured me a bit.

Is the blood coming from the "front" or the "back"?

It is really hard not to worry.  I know firsthand.  It is.

Have you had previous pregnancies?  Are you seeing an RE or an OBGYN?  Is your doctor monitoring closely with bloodwork at this point, or are you waiting for your first ultrasound.

If you don't have any cramping, I would try not to worry.  I know that's easy to say.  Harder to do.

But, are you continuing to bleed?  Or was it just that one time?
