I am 47 and starting over....

My new husband and I have been tring to have a child for 3 years and we did IVF. I found out yeserday I am pregnant and due Jan. I have had 4 children 26,21,20,and 14 from a previous marriage. My older 3 children are upset about this. I am excited but scared at the same time.Is anyone else 47 and pregnant?

I am 43 and pregnant with #4  ages 23, 19, and 3; I am very excited and looking forward to a happy healthy pregnancy.  I have not told the older siblings as I am waiting til I am further along.  The first two were from my first marriage, and the 3 year old and current pregnancy from my OH.  We wanted the 3 year old to have someone close to her age and also because we wanted one more.  

I know that once the older ones have more time they will come around, they need to understand you are in a new relationship and that you are adults and have made this decision which was yours to make not theirs.  There is nothing wrong with having another child at your age, more and more women are doing it.

That's awesome! Congratulations! Hopefully your older children will get used to the idea over time. Maybe you can stress to them how important it is to you. I hope they want whatever will make you happy. I do understand being scared. But just try take good care of yourself! (diet, low stress, plenty of rest, etc.) And I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months!

Three years ago, did you sit down and let your three older children know that you wanted to have another child/ren? Either way i know where they are coming from, but just let them know the baby is a blessing.. they will come around, just give them time.

OMG that is so great. I just turned 44 and am TTC. I also have 4 kids ages 23,21,19,15 from a previous marriage. My two oldest sons are upset that I have a new partner and am trying to have a baby. Don't be scared just enjoy life for what it is. As for OUR kids they will come around, (hopefully).LOL.. Can you give me any advice in how you concieved?
