I havent seen a dr yet and im atleast 5 -6 months along

I have bcbs insurance that doesnt cover pregnancy and I cant afford the insurance I even have. I need medicaid like I had w my first daughter but because I have a trust fund (that I cant touch) I dont think they'll approve me and I dont know where to start as far as getting it either. My sis n law walked me thru it all the first go round but since my daughter (whos 7 now) was born...I lost my mom& I feel lost. Any suggestions. I have had one sonogram at a free clinic and everything looked good but now my friend says she thinks im more like 7 months along..not 5 like the clinic thought.

I have bcbs and my prenatal care is covered completely except the birth and believe me it's not the best plan. The new federal law makes it so that all insurance covers prenatal care. You should check into it again. Bcbs also paid for my medela breast pump and starter kit 100%

I use midwives. Most dont take insurance. They cost about $4,000 and this includes everything! Or go to your local clinic and ask for a self pay program which cost about the same. Both will allow you to make payments over time. Take care of that little one and yourself. There is always a way, just keep looking.

How can you get free or low-cost prenatal care?
If you don't have insurance or can't afford prenatal care, find out about free or low-cost services in your area:
Call (800) 311-BABY (800-311-2229). This toll-free number connects you to your local health department.
For information in Spanish, call 800-504-7081.

All health insurances must offer maternity, if you have a plan that doesn't it most likely isn't approved by the aca and can inccur a fine.  If you don't have it most hospitals will allow you to do a payment plan and give you a certain percent off.  Go see a doctor.  You need to make sure you and your baby ate healthy

Planned Parenthood is in many states and DOES do free, low cost, sliding scale pre natal care. Any of your county or city low income health clinics do them as well. If you knew you could not afford insurance, why were you not using birth control? How will you support the baby if you don't have money for your own insurance? I don't understand how you are waiting for the Healthcare fairy to come give you insurance while jeopardizing the baby....get your but to the Dr. and if you rack up medical bills to provide good care for the baby, so be it. When your trust opens up later, you can pay them off. Getting a job with Healthcare is an option too

Not sure where you live but I work for DHS and trust funds that can't be accessed don't count. Here in Illinois you'd quality for Moms and babies to cover the pregnancy and first year of babies life. Also depending on your income continued care.

You can get emergency medical for being pregnant, I'm not sure how the trust fund thing affects it of not but it doesn't hurt to try.

Go to ur nearest state health dept and they will help get u signed up for emergency pregnancy Medicaid.  If u do it thru the ER at the hospital, they will help u sign up as well, but u will be stuck with the bill of being seen thru there which I don't recommend.  My friend had recommended I do that as well cuz that what she does, but she has countless unpaid medical bills from doing it like that.  The state health dept doesn't charge u anything once u qualify for Medicaid.  U have options.  Goodluck.

I had insurance through my company and wasn't covering at all. That didn't stop me from seeing my Dr. and I started the visits at 8 weeks. I got several bills that starting to accumulate amd were overwhelming to see. A friend of mine told me to call or apply for Medicaid. I am glad I did, they paid everything that was unpaid and I still have it working fine. I m not sure I am going to keep the other insurance Which I paid for nothing.

I'm 25 wks and yet to see a doctor, i have my 1st appointment at 28 wks.I find it funny as they are so concerned about something happening in labour, but couldn't care less about me during me pregnancy.

I would suggest you to look for midwife. They can take care of all of your prenatal visits, delivery, and postdelivery visits for just 2,000 to 5,000$. I personally like midwifes more than doctors.

A trust fund you are currently receiving no income from will not get you denied from medicaid. Go apply so you can be seen.

You can apply for new coverage. It's open enrollment time. You should apply now and change your plan. You need to be seen. Even of you don't qualify for medicaid you might qualify for a subsidy through Obama Care.

You cant be denied treatment because you cant pay. At least at a hospital I know for sure. Try to get seen and set up insurance.

You need to get seen mama. You dint have to disclose your trust, especially if you do not have access to it. Apply online for medicaid. Also many facilities offer sliding scale cate based in your income.  It requires a little leg work but you need insurance and so does your baby when he/she is born.

Try applying for Medicaid. The trust should not matter because they ask for current monthly income.
