Is it safe to take Tylenol during pregnancy?

Hi,
I am 10 week’s and 2 days pregnant. Is it ok to take Tylenol 500 mg for headache during pregnancy? How many tablets can I take per day?

Also, why I am getting headache very frequently is it normal during pregnancy.

Best regards,
Sue

Hi all,

Thank you so much for all of your advices. Yes, my doctor told me to take Tylenol not Advil. Personally, Advil works for me better. I do have my first OB appointment on March 11th. I was afraid to take any medicine because last October I had a miscarriage. Yesterday I had so much of headache. My husband pushed me to take Tylenol. When my doctor told that, you take Tylenol my husband was there. So he was telling me why you are suffering when you take medicine.

Best regards,
Sue

yes, tylenol is what my ob told me to take....  because it doesn't thin your blood.  Do NOT take advil they told me...as that thins the blood.

but of course, call ob and double check.

I think my doc said it's OK to take 800 mg every 6 hours.

Headaches are apparenty common in early preg.

Hope you feel better.

You may want to check with your doctor on the amount and duration of taking Tylenol. It is safe to take during pregnancy.

Yes, the Tylenol is fine to take. Many people may disagree with me on this but my dr. allowed me to take regular aspirin up until 20 weeks. I was taking a bc powder a day for my headaches because they were so bad and frequent.
