Is labor coming soon?

Im 39 weeks and one day pregnant. I have had constipation, stomach ache feeling, tired, at one point flu like symptoms, just for one days though. I havent had any of those symptoms besides constipation in over 3 days. I went to the O.B and she said my cervix was very softened, what does this mean? I have not dilate at all(my cervix is not opened at all) Am I going to have this baby before my due date (dec/18th) Is there anyway I can go into labor this week when my cervix is opened?

Well I believe the O.B said my cervix was softened, So thats a good thing I guess :)

Our bodies do funny things just before we have babies;)  W/my first (my other 2 were induced) I had WARNING TMI the "runs" for about 3 days, & just felt WEIRD!!!  I was thinking since it was my first & EVERYBODY was telling me that I was going to be overdue, that my body was freaking out;)  
Well, it was of course!  Lots of changes were about to happen, in a good way;)  
So, listen to your body & instinct, I bet you go into labor in the next couple of days;)
I hope it's a wonderful experience & you can enjoy it all;)  Even when you want to hurt someone REALLY bad, cuz you are in pain!!!

ps your cervix needs to soften up to be able to fully dilate, if it's not soft, & you begin to dilate to soon, it can cause you to have to have a C section....so a soft cervix is a happy cervix;)

Oh, you must be so ready.  Sally is right, it could happen anytime now.  And typically they won't let you go over 42 weeks (at least I don't think so), so hopefully it's not more then 2 weeks worst case.  Good luck and let us know how things are going!!

HI,

it is possible that you will have labor soon.  By 39 weeks it could be anytime.  Your symptoms also could point to labor coming soon.  hang on.  the last days and weeks are the hardest to wait.  But it will happen.
