Light spotting-12 1/2 weeks pregnant

I am 12 1/2 weeks pregnant and just went to the doctor day before yesterday.  He done an enternal exam with the pap smear and everything.  First time I had went.  Tonight, about 2 days later, I noticed a light pinkish liquid in my panties, could this be from having the exam?  I hadn't had any problems up till this point.  Belly growing, breast sore, cravings-everything normal.  I also have got an urinary tract infection that I'm taking antiobiotics for, could this have something to do with it?  Do I need to just go back to the doctor, my next appointment is March 3rd for an ultrasound, help, I'm scared.

Spotting often occurs after pelvic exams, sex and even bowel movements.  The cervix is so sensitive during pregnancy.  Any pink, brown or red on the toilet paper or in the underwear is shocking and scary, but can be very normal.

Try not to worry unless it gets heavier and redder, and always call your doctor if it will make you feel better.

The first trimester is so scary!  It gets better (although you'll find other things to worry about later!)

Since the cervix can be much more sensitive during pregnancy, pap tests, internal exams and intercourse can cause light spotting. Light pink spotting is probably fine and should go away by itself. If the spotting turns red, call your doctor, but sounds like the spotting is from the exam, which is normal. Good luck.

I had spotting around that time of my pregnancy too. It scared me so I went to the ER, by the time I got to the ER it was already brown and almost gone. They did give me a pelivc exam and they could some some blood, but could not figure out where it was coming from. So, they put me on bedrest for a week. The next day the spotting was all gone, but I still stayed on bedrest. I am now 21wks pg and have never had spotting since then (knock on wood). I am sure yours was brought on by the exam. They say it is not uncommon to have some sort of spotting during the early stages of pregnancy. I would not worry about it unless it continues or gets heavy. If it really starts to worry you call your doctor and insist that they move up your appt.

But sounds to me like your pregnancy is progressing normally and sure everything will be okay!!!

Yes, this is most likely from the exam. 2 days after s e x I had light spotting and Dr. said he has seen it up to 3-4 days. I think you are fine :)
