Low Lying Placenta

by rukiyar, Apr 09, 2008 03:59PM
I am now 27weks and 3 days my midwife called and said my u/s is still showing a low lying placenta since 16 weeks, no sex no lifting for all this time, What does this mean I have another u/s in two weeks again , is there a chance it will move?  They said it is 1inch from my cervix but my cervix is nice and thick 3.8cm, does this mean a possible C-Sec?

You're still early and have time for it to change. From what I remember the low-lying placentas usually do migrate back upwards on their own jsut fine, but I don't remember the timeframe...I think they usually do migrate by the 9th month/36 weeks?? Can't remember exactly but I know my "what to expect" book lists it in the "What if's"
