My friend was diagnosed with low progesterone after her miscarriage and was put on supplements when she became pregnant again. That 2nd pregnancy was successful and she has a very healthy baby. I am sorry for your loss, but hang in there and believe that the next pregnancy will be happy and successful. (I had a miscarriage at 17 weeks, but from a chromosome issue.)
Thanks for all the kind words....I did not have a fetal hearbeat at my last U/S and had a D & C last week. It makes us sad however we know where to start next time. We will try again in a few months with the suppositories already suggested to my Dr. He agreed that the progestrone with baby aspirin will help.
I was also put on progesterone as soon as I got my bfp. Sometimes spotting can occur if your body is not producing enough progesterone. Maybe that's why you're spotting. Another potential cause may be the insertion of the suppository itself (if you're using suppositories). Continual use of the progesterone should help to increase your levels. Try not to worry. Hopefully, everything will be fine.
P.S. I also had very light spotting early on and now I'm 18weeks.
I was put on progesterone at 6wks because it went from 20 to 16 to 11. After i was put on progesterone suppositories, it went up to 39. I'm now 32wks pg. Hang in there. I hope it works out for you.
I was put on progesterone at 4 weeks and everything turned out fine... now 19w4d... are they still checking your hcg levels to see if they are going up... are you due for another u/s. You should be taking the supplements vaginally because it is the most potent that way instead of orally. Rest rest rest and pray,.. and call your doc and get another u/s for peace of mind...
i have never had a miscarriage...but i am pregnant and have low progesterone...i am on prometrium 2x daily (suppositories) until i am 12 weeks along. i went on them at 4 weeks pregnant. just so you know...if you do take the suppositories vaginally...your progesterone will go up but wont show up in the blood work...
i am surprised with your history of a miscarriage your doctor didnt put you on them sooner...in any case i hope it helps and wish you a healthy pregnancy!!!
