Lower Back/ Butt pain

I recently started getting lower back pain but what is worse is that the pain is now radiating to my right butt cheek. It is so painful,  I can't walk or move. It literally paralyzes and numbs me. I have a very high tolerance for pain, but this pain is so excruciating, it has literally brought me to tears. My doctor says exercise will help stretch muscles and help alleviate pain, but there are times when even walking is painful. Anyone else experiencing this?

Thank You all... I still have 2 months to go...I hope this pain goes away soon.  Although this pain at times is unbearable and brings me to tears, it's great to know there are support groups out there and I know that it will all be worth it !!! AS I hold my little girl,it will bring me "happy tears".

I agree, it's the sciatic nerve. I suffered with it every day for many weeks as I carried my son low. It went away for a few weeks as my uterus grew & allowed my son to move, but has come back now that he's dropped. I went to the chiropractor weekly & that was an enormous help. I also put ice on it as much as I could. For me, I found gentle stretches that stretched the hamstrings helped, but be careful, don't over stretch because it will remind quickly! I also suggest to be mindful when you're walking to not pull your shoulders back & stick your butt out. You wanna keep good posture but keep your butt/hips forward so your body isn't constantly straining itself with the new baby weight you're carrying in the front.

It sounds like sciatic nerve pain? I got this the other day & my mother suffers from this & told me it sounds exactly the same. Each time I tried to keep walking (very uncomfortably & I looked quite strange) but after a few minutes it went away.

With my 2nd, I got horrendous, sharp pain in my butt that would radiate up my back and down my leg. Would leave me breathless and unable to move sometimes! I saw a PT for a while and eventually got it under control using a positioning belt for my hip joint...loose pregnancy joints were inflaming a major nerve.
