Lower blood pressure at dr. appt today

At my dr. appt. this morning, my blood pressure was lower than usual. Normally the bottom number is between 60-70, and today it was between 40-50 (they checked it twice). My doctor is on vacation this week, so the doctor for my appt. said not to worry too much, but watch for symptoms like dizziness, light-headedness or racing heart. Baby's measurement and heart rate seemed fine and I've been feeling baby moving. My dip tests were fine this morning too. High blood pressure runs in my family, so I should be glad my blood pressure isn't going up, however even though the doctor said not to worry, of course now I am.

Anyone have any information or insight for a lower than normal blood pressure during 3rd trimester? (I'm 31 weeks.)

Thank you, Tennessegirl, I saw that one too. It was helpful information.

My wonderful nurse also got back to me and said not to worry, just watch for any symptoms, stay hydrated with water and gatorade, and even graze all day long to keep those nutrients up. Ooh, an excuse to eat and snack all day long, gotta love that!!!  :-)

He is gone this week. I guessing spring break with his children. My next appointment is 2 weeks and they will check my blood pressure again unless I have any odd symptoms before then. My nurse is great and I can always call or email her, which I might do just for some peace of mind. Just read online that staying hydrated can help bring blood pressure back up, so I'm trying to drink more water and juice today. Maybe I wasn't drinking enough fluids lately?

Not during the 3rd trimester, but when I had my TR surgery mine was really low too and they told me to rest as much as I can. Did they say when he is coming back or anyone else you can talk to about this to ease your mind?

Good Luck and take it easy!!
