Need some advice.. Blood work results.

Ok so I am having to change my doctor because we had to move but my old doctor called me earlier today to let me know about my last blood work. He said that it came back that I was positive for carrying cystic fibrosis and could have a 25%chance of passing it on to my baby. I have had two other kids and I was never told this before. And when I told him that he said they may not have tested me for it. He said we could have an amniocentesis done and then if the baby has it we could talk about either keeping it or terminating the pregnancy. But I said that was and would never be an option!! I just couldn't imagine that. But I told my husband and now he's so worried about it but he said as well that there's no way he would ever think of not wanting our baby. I just don't know what to think. I am going to get my new doctor to do more blood work and retest me for it. But any advice is appreciated. Or has anyone else gone through this. I am 18 weeks.

I know I am in the 18-24 community but I figured I would post in these other ones and see what advice yall have.

I am going to call an schedule him an appt. and get some tests done on him. But now he's scared they will find other things wrong with him. (He typically freaks out about everything lol.)

The labs are typically not wrong.  So what you need to do is have your husband tested.  If he is not a carrier than your child will not have Cystic Fibrosis. If he is a carrier your baby will have a 25% risk of having the disease. If that's the case so your research on it and speak with the genetic counselor. It'll be okay mama.

Your labs are probably correct. Just have dad's blood checked to see if he is a CF carrier. You also have the option of getting a referral to speak with a genetic counselor.  They are experts with discussing "risks". If dad is not a carrier, then I think the baby is safe, just not 100% sure on that.
