Not perfectly round gestational sac.. miscarriage???

by Tummymummy, Apr 02, 2008 09:41AM
I went for my 1st ultrasound yesterday, i was 5 weeks and 4 days based off of my gestational sac size. There is a yolk sac but no heartbeat yet...i know thats ok she said it should show up by saturday. But when doing the ultrasound she saw that my gestational sac is not perfectly round, it has a "flat" side like maybe something is protruding into it...is this a really bad thing??? could it be a fibroid? will that make me miscarry or can a baby still be ok with something like that?? The dr sounded worried...is there anyone who has gone though this "flat" sided gestation sac ordeal? and what was your outcome?
