Not sure what to think, kinda scared.

So twice now I have had a bleed. I'm 10 weeks today and 2 days ago I woke up bleeding and by the time we got to the hospital the bleeding had stopped and my cervix was closed and baby was fine w/ a HB of 180. After that all I had was brown spotting and it was almost gone. Then lastnight I went in the bathroom and when I wiped there was red blood on the paper. Just on the paper and just that one time and now it has gone back to brown spotting. No painful cramps, but I did have alot of cramps yesterday. They just were not painful. What can be causing this?

I've read a lot of women here have spotting especially around 10 wks.  I was told it was the uterus expanding and the ligaments stretching that can cause light bleeding and the cramps.

As you know, I had the same thing happen on Sunday...identical.  Today the brown spotting has finally faded to staining, and seems to be coming to an end.  Same thing, nice strong heartbeat, baby is fine, and no reason found for it.  I wrote the MedHelp OB ($20, but well worth it) as my OB doesn't seem interested in seeing me until the 21st for my 12 week checkup.  Dr. Brown (MedHelp OB) seems to think it might be a hemotoma (I know, spelling is wrong).  They are common, and not always visible on ultrasound.  I know a few other women who have had it (Helen and Tamster) and it rarely is a problem for the fetus.  The other theory could be polyps (Prevatt had that).  And last but not least, what they call a "ripe cervix".  Somehow you have irritated it causing a blood vessel to break.  For some it doesn't take much.  Even an orgasm without intercourse can cause it.  Get it checked out for sure, but if you have made it 10 weeks and baby is healthy, that is a really great sign.  If you read up on it, at 10 weeks your chances of this being a loss take a huge nosedive, almost as good a stats as hitting the end of first trimester.  Here is the link to my post to Dr. Brown....hopefully it makes you feel more secure....

I can never figure out how to set it up as a link, so just cut and paste.  I think she is really great.  XOXO  Amanda

I totally agree with Adgal.  So many girls I know that had that bleeding it was because of a harmless hematoma...I know it is so freaky but it's probably nothing...  Things will be just fine! :-)

Thank You so much ladies.

Adgal,
I read the responce from the DR and that made me feel so much better. Thank You!

Also, I have so far had no bleeding or spotting since the bleed this morning. I'm sure as soon as I type this I will have some sort of bleeding or spotting....LOL.

I thought mine had stopped, but back it came a bit ago.  Still brown though. Everytime you start worrying, look at your little bean's ultrasound picture.  That's what I do, and I can still see him/her waving those little arms and legs around.  It makes me feel sooo much better, and I'm sure it will do the same for you!!  Hang in there, we are almost out of this first trimester!!

I know, can you believe it? We've almost made it!  I'm glad yours is still brown. Hopefuly this will go away soon for both of us and then we can just enjoy the fact that we made it and will be mommies soon. Are you staying off your feet or anything?

Yep.  I am working from home all this week.  I am lucky that I have that kind of job, it's not a big deal. Plus, they know my history and are very supportive.  DH is handling all the housework and meals. If the house gets messy, so be it.  How about you?

Same here. I own my business so my partner is taking over for now and DH is taking care of the house w/ help of the kids.
