I m so sorry to hear that...but try not to worry too much, since that will just add to your stress. The fact that you'll be seeing a high risk obgyn is a good thing. I'm sure you'll be in very good handsHand or foot spasms Hand tremor.
I had gestationalGestational diabetes Gestational trophoblastic disease diabetes with my second pregnancy and had non-stress tests twiceTwice-a-day a week also. Although it was different problem, I believe they will be looking for the same thing -- a healthy, vital placenta. They want to see if it is still working like it is supposed to. The NST look for several spans of movement by the baby with increased heart etc. This, according to my NST technician, lets them know the placenta is still working properly.
With my 1st pregnancy I found out I had preeclempsia at 36 weeks, which includes high blood pressure. They made me lay on my left side and I ended up having the baby early. From what I understand the high BP affects you more than the baby.
High risk means just that RISK. (I keep tellin myself that LOL)...the good thing is they will monitor you very closely. try to sit back and relax
good luck
