Overweight and pregnant

I was having a conversation with someone on the telephone, and she was expressing to me that she has a coworker that is due the same time as I am. She was explaining that I am relatively small compared to her coworker. Not to mention that her coworker was at least 80 pounds smaller than me before pregnancy. But I can't help but be a lil worried because my first pregnancy I was seven months pregnant and could still wear my regular clothes. Needles to say my baby was born early at seven months and only weighed one pound eight ounces. And by her making that comparison it's makes me worried that history is repeating itself.  Or is it that the coworker is smaller in statue maybe thats why she is showing more than me. I truly hope do because I don't know if I can go thru another premature deliverly.

After posting I went online and did some research of my own. I must say I was relieved at what I found out about plus size women and pregnancy. Thanks for the reassurance!!

Overweight women generally show later just because people think its fat but its baby too. I am normally around 180 lbs and no one could tell I was pregnant until around 7 months. Don't listen  and Never compare! Your doc checks your uterus size on a regular basis after the first trimester or so...they would tell you if something was wrong. Nothing to worry about!

Try not to compare yourself to other pregnant women. Instead, have an honest conversation with your OB-gyn, if there any potential risks, he will let you know. And if he thinks your weight is fine, he will reassure you! No need to worry neednessly when pregnant!
