Painful orgasm

I'm 9 weeks along and we've hardly had any sex (my doing). I'm just so tired. But when we do, the orgasms hurt like bad period cramps. Did anyone else have this? Does it go away? I mentioned it to my OB but she said nothing. I'm guessing due to weight and size of the uterus, it could hurt. Plus it feels not only like uterine pain but like the ovaries are getting pulled too (supposedly an ultrasound showed that one of them was adhered to the uterus from endo).

Is this common? I mean, sex/orgasm isn't that important if it means that I should stop due to any risks.

It may change as you progress aloong.....I had some slight cramping earlier in my preg and now Im 15 wks and its fine and I welcome the orgasm.  Its a bit more intense.  So see if it changes in time.  Or get creative w/your DH if you prefer no penetration.  Hope that wasnt TMI....

Thanks. I do appreciate the advice. Occassionally I would get the same type of pain before I was pregnant, depending on how "inflammed" my endo or whatever was going on with it. :)

I would say that for 9 weeks, I've only orgasmed 3-4 times and that's it. I get nervous about the pain so it's not worth it. But yes, it's hard sometimes. hehehe Sex though with no orgasms is fine. I just tell the DH to be careful.

I didnt have pain with orgasms, but I did feel like my uterus would go really tight and hard right before, during and for a little bit afterwards. A few times I had very, very slight cramping for a few minutes afterwards. I didnt think much of it, but then at around 20 weeks I mentioned it to my OB and he said it shouldn't be happening so he told me no more sex and no more orgasms! He said my uterus might be irritable and that in some cases orgasm can bring on contractions enough to increase risk of premature labour. This got me really worried, so I did stop for a while (but its really hard!), but to be honest we have had sex (and orgasm) a few times since and I'm just really careful to take it easy afterwards. I have done some reading and found that the uterus does have contractions during and after orgasm even when your not pregnant, its just that your uterus is so small you dont feel it, so obviously when your pregnant you will feel them more. I also read that orgasm is totally fine and cramping afterwards is normal in a normal pregnancy - the only time they advise the no sex/no orgasm rule is if you are high risk.

I'm sorry I couldnt give you a clearer answer, but I thought my experience might help? You might want to mention it to your OB again and try to get an answer from her.
