Please Help!! For peace of mind........

Has anyone had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and had a fetal pole without a heartbeat and then went on to have the baby? I had a sonogram on Friday and they said I was 6 weeks 1 day with no heartbeat but I should of been 7 weeks 2 days according to my LMP. I'm trying not to freak out too badly and I feel for any woman that has had to or will have to go through this as it is quite awful to not know what is going on. Any insight would be great. Thanks so much!!

Thanks for all the well wishes, but mine didn't end good. I went in for a sonogram yesterday and they again found no heartbeat and the fetal pole had stayed the same size for 3 weeks in a row. My hcg levels were decreasing and I ended up having a d&c at 7:00pm after being at the hospital since 9:00am yesterday. What a horrible long day. I'm so glad that I am home and I'm just trying to start the healing process. I feel so empty and at the same time so relieved that I don't have to worry about what is going to happen. I know that it happened for a reason and that is what I'm trying to focus on.
Good luck to everyone! And Thanks!!

I, too had the same exact experience. I had three different doctors come in to look at my u/s and they saw no baby. I freaked out! I had to impatiently wait for the follow-up u/s and when I did, all was well. I ended up with FOUR different due dates. Oof.

I'm hoping they have rescheduled you for a follow-up u/s within the next two weeks.

Please keep us updated!

The heart starts beating between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 weeks.  It is very possible it was just too early.  Measuring a week behind can be of minor concern, but is it possible your dates are off?  Or you ovulated late?

I know this is a stressful time and I am so sorry you are going through it.  Your next ultrasound should give you a definate answer.  I wish you well.

I had an u/s also at 6 weeks just a sac was showing up. Went back a week later and there was a beautiful heart beat. We were really scared because I was spotting.  I am now 17 weeks. Wishing you a very sticky bean and hope you hear that beautiful music of a heartbeat when you go back to the dr.
