We transferred two embies and thought we had two viable babies at our first follow up, but by the time we made it to our 7 week u/s, only one heartbeat and sac was visible. My RE was very cautious about considering it two early on for the very reason you mentioned-- it's early and you don't want to be let down. I was admittedly a little sad when we learned only one made it to a heartbeat but my husband was really disappointed. I think he'd convinced himself what we originally saw was going to last. I'm now 21 weeks pregnant with a very healthy singleton and couldn't be happier. Good luck to you!
LisaL18 - Thanks!
Sakinah69 - You must be going crazy!!! :-)
I am 5w 3d, my doc said it was to early for u/s, however she did give me a referral to get my u/s, with the proviso that I don't get it done for another 10 days... So its sitting on my bookcase looking at me and silently mocking me! HELP! lol
Good Luck! Hoping for strong heartbeats for you!!!
Thanks ladies for yoru comments. I'm so anxious for the next U/S on 18th Oct. Really hoping for a good strong heartbeat, or 2 :-) Am feeling so nauseous and tired, so feeling positive.
I can't help as I have not had this experience personally, but I did want to wish you luck!
I had a similar u/s with 2 sacs around the 5 weeks stage. At my next U/S there was only one sac with a heartbeat, and she is now 14. So don't be too sad, in case that happens, in the end it is all good.
