Pregnancy & Thyroid

I am currently 5 weeks 6 days pregnant with my 2nd child. My Endocrinologist, who is very thorough, requested that I come in last week for a checkup and related blood work. I have been taking .175 mcg of Levoxyl for the last year for Hypothyroid. To my surprise, my TSH & T4 results came back that I am Hyper. My meds have been reduced to .150mcg's and I have a follow up appointment in 3 weeks for additional blood work. I have been having heart palpitation, increased blood pressure (150/100) and can tell it's related to my hormone changes, be it pregnancy or increase thyroid.

I asked my Endo to throw in an HCG test for my current pregnancy. The test was taken at 18dpo (days past ovulation) and the results were 658.7 miu per ml. My OBGYN sent me for a second HCG test at 20dpo (48 hours later), for comparison and those results were 2,264 miu per ml. Now my ob/gyn is sending me for an ultra sound on 10/15 to see if everything is ok. The nurse made the comment that even though the HCG numbers were high, it wasn't necessarily a multiple pregnancy. That threw me for a loop. I am not sure that would explain an early u/s. I had a blighted ovum my 1st pregnancy and found out (via vaginal u/s) that I miscarried at 10 weeks. My HCG numbers were very high, so that is also a concern for me.

I am looking for some guidance on the subject of chemically induced hyper thyroid and it's affect on FSH (can it produce more than 1 egg in a normally Hypo thyroid patient), and HCG levels in pregnancy.

Thanks

Thank you. When I was pg with my son, I had bw done every 6-8 weeks.

Did you have high hcg levels within the first 4 weeks?
