Progesterone supplements = messed up cycles?

by alexie, Apr 28, 2008 11:58PM
Dear Doctor,
I have a healthy 18 month old daughter.  We conceived easily (3 months of trying).  When she was 6 months old we started ttc our second.  April of 07 I had my first miscarriage, in December I had a second miscarriage.  Being 39,  I felt that time was running out for me so I went to a RE.  She put me on prometrium (200mg 1X daily) for the second half of my cycle.  The first cycle was 35 days long (19 day luteal phase) with a negative HPT on 17 dpo. This cycle is 37 days and counting with a negative HPT on 19 dpo.  Has taking this supplement messed up my hormones and cycles? I have always had cycles between 28 and 30 days.   I'm assuming that there is no way that I can be pregnant this cycle with the negative HPT and will stop taking the supplement, assuming that will allow my period to start.  Should I continue taking these supplements or let my body get back to normal? How long should it take to the hormones to rebalance?
Thanks!
