Question on gold ring test

I know this is kind of silly and kind of like the chinese gender chart-ya never know but...has anyone ever done the gold necklace/gold ring "test" over your open palm to see how many children you will have (which is supposed to include any m/c) and what sexes they will be? I had a lady do this to me at a birthday party and since we are still trying to have another baby and she told me I was "done" it made me paranoid!!! I know, it's all in fun but has anyone had this test on them?

I have done that test with a ring on a string and it went through all my pregnancies including this one and stop I have had 8 pregnancies my first was a boy it went back and forth my second was a Mc I have no idea the sea it went in circles my third fourth fifth six and seventh are all boys it went back and forth and with this pregnancy it did circles so it is saying I should have a girl but we will see I am 16weeks wawaiting to do my us .I got the same results when I did the ring over my stomach. It stopped at eight I guess it is sensing I am going to get my tube tied .

I've done it on myself and had it done on me,  although it has been correct, I'm convinced it is the sub conscious deciding. Also it is supposed to be fun so try not to get too upset about what it says. Good luck Hon Rachael x

i have done the test got one girl one boy
hope the test i wrong coz i had two m/c and am still 32
so really do hope that its wrong coz the wait each month is very hard

Yep, I tried it twice and the first time I started with a boy and the second time I started with a girl???? Who knows, it was fun to try! At least I'm not done having children!!!! Thanks again!

After rubbing it on your wrist and then placing it over your hand, was it still first? And then start moving and then still again? After that you repeated the rubbing of the wrist and placed it over your palm again? And you continued and you kept showing more and morer children? (smile)  Mine always completely stops after 4 kids.  I even did the the ring over my belly last night and it showed a boy.

I have no idea what makes it move but with me it has always remained the same no matter if I do it myself or others do it.

Maybe it works, maybe not.  You seem to have lots of children in your future so don't stress about.  I laugh and say if I don't have sex I will not have any so how scientific can it be... lol

Ok, so I tried it on myself and I think it's wrong...unless I'm doing it wrong! They were all fast and it said B,G,G,B,G,G,B,B (this one was slow),G,G (both of these were slow at first and then fast),B...and that's where I quit. I have two boys and then had 2 mc. Who knows but thank you for the info. anyway! It's always interesting to hear different things people do!

Hmm, I've never heard of that one! I would think needle would just keep going each time you begin steps...that would be lots of kiddos! Eventually it just won't go? I'm afraid to do it after what happened with the ring thing! Maybe I'll try...

Not a ring but a needle and thread.  Yes I've done it many times. I get the same thing.  Boy, miscarriage (girl), boy, boy.  So far I have a boy, then miscarried at 11 weeks, then another boy, and now I'm pregnant again. So we will have to see. Mom did the same to my sister in law. She is to have six. The first 4 have been correct in exact order. My mother did it on herself and she had the exact same order of us, miscarriage, boy, miscarriage, girl (me).  We have all done it many of times and get the same result.

We use a needle and thread, about ten inches long. Have person or yourself (works doing it on yourself) hand needle and rub thread up and down against wrist (have left hand like you are going to shake hands). Do this for about a minute or so. Then turn hand palm up, place needle middle of palm just above hand. If it moves back and forth fast it is a boy. If it moves in a circle girl. If it only does if for a second or really slowly it means miscarrage. Once it stops moving, repeat steps. Rub wrist, place over palm. Do until the needle doesn' move anymore.

Thanks ladies! The test is this...someone holds a gold ring on a gold chain over your open palm. They go from side to side 10 times (from your pinky side to your thumb side) and then let it decide which way it will swing over yor palm. Circles indicates a girl and side to side indicates a boy. She said she can tell how many children you will have by how long it swings. I know, things like this are silly but it's hard not to take it to heart. We have two boys (3 and 9) and then had a mc in March 2006 and another one in Nov. 2006 and now haven't been able to get pregnant since so I'm starting to think it may never happen. Just wondered if anyone has had this "test" and what the outcome was. We'll keep trying anyway!!!!

My dad's friend swears that he can predict the sex of a baby by waving this pendulum thing over a pregnant woman's belly.  I don't think I would swear by it, but I will try it for fun when I'm further along.  I've never heard of anything telling someone that they're "done" though,

Like any of those old wives tales, those tests are fun to do but they are not accurate. Don't let anyone tell you that you are "done" having children if you are not. Good luck and ignore that silly woman at the birthday party.

I've heard of suspending a gold ring over mommy's tummy and depending on which way it swings, it might predict the sex.  I've heard some say if it swings back and forth, it's a boy, and if it swings in a circle, it's a girl.  That being said, jifnif is right in that if you believe deep down your baby is one thing or another, tiny mucular movements in your own hand, from a totally subconcious level, will usually cause the ring to swing whatever way you expect.  I saw this demonstrated on TV with some British guy that debunks magicians!

Now, I've also heard of rubbing a gold ring on your skin to see if you are anemic, and if it leaves a black streak, you need more iron. I really think this one is a myth too, but one thing I can tell you, however, is that sometimes my skin DOES turn black when I rub gold on it.  I've read that it's actually the makeup oxidizing against the gold or something, but that can't be.  It turns my skin black no matter where I rub the gold, regardless of makeup being there or not.  And, these aren't cheap rings either! They are 14 K and up, and I've rubbed them on friends and it doesn't work, so I've no clue why it happens.

Since I've gotten pregnant, my rings have been leaving horrible black powder marks all over my fingers and hands and I have to constantly go wash them!

Never heard of the test but listen to me closely....dont get that idea in your head if "you" do not think you are done!!!!!  You must read the book "Secret" or see the movie.  Your life is what you attract to it and it tells you about the power of your own mind.  :)  I have read it and believe that it holds a lot of power.  Sorry, never heard of the test.  :)
