Severe nausea and vomiting all day

Hello ladies. I'm 40 and 7 weeks pregnant. I've been having bad nausea throughout the day and sometimes it even wakes me up during the night with a feeling of fainting in my sleep and then having to get out of bed and throw up. This has been happening for the last week and a half. My OBGYN told me to stop my vitamins and take just folic acid for now as the iron in them could be making matters worse. I have tried ginger and all that I could find info on, but nothing seems to make any difference! I am getting worried as I cannot even keep fluids down. Anyone going through something similar with a tip of something that helped?

I personally didnt get much sickness but my friend was very sick through out all of both her pregnancies.  She was unable to keep water down at times and was hospitalized several times for dehydration.   Hopeful it subdues for you soon. Just keep picturing the end result!

Hello ladies,
Thanks so much for your tips. My doctor prescribed pills but have resisted taking any yet though he says they are safe....He also told me to leave them as a last resort. I tried munching throughout the day and sipping fluids in between, but it just gave me loads of acid in my stomach. Regarding Gatorade or any other sports drink, those are loaded with caffeine, which should be avoided in pregnancy. ....
I tried ginger ale and sometimes it works and other times it makes me feel worse. I tried sucking on mints which freshen my stomach up for a few minutes. I will take your tip and try other sugar candy. Thanks for all the tips.....will update you :-)

I'm have the same thing. My doctor prescribe the medicine after I had a severe episode in her office.  I does help but I'm afraid of side effects so I don't take it very often.  It makes me so tired and useless. Instead I try slowly sipping ginger ale warm throughout the night. Believe it or not dum dum suckers have gotten me through some of the gagging. If it gets really bad you will need to go on something so you don't dehydrate. It also helps to have a salty snack when the bouts come on.  Like 2 or 3 almonds followed by the warm ginger ale. I hope you feel better let us know how your doing.

Do you constantly munch on crackers or anything like that? I always had crackers on my night stand & in my purse. In the morning I would eat crackers about 10-15 minutes before slowly getting out of bed & they helped me. Have you tried any kind of sucking candy for nauesa? My favorites were apple, lemon, & orange.
