So Sad- Red Bleeding- Headed to ER

Unfortunately, doesn't look like I was worried for nothing:(  Although the brown spotting had stopped, the persistent cramps continued.  Very early this morning (4:30am) I experienced about 30 seconds of a dull pain in my lower back.   Just now I released red blood into the toilet and, per my dr, am not headed to the emergency room.  I will update you later although I think we all know what this is.

Hang in there!  I have had heavy red bleeding two times so far this pregnancy.  I doctor had me come to L&D each time and we were both amazed to see a heartbeat after all the blood I lost, it just didn't look good.  But both times they did an ultrasound and the baby still had a heartbeat.  My doctor told me that 20% of woman will bleed in there first trimester and that's it's normal.  Well with all the blood I lost, that just wasn't normal to us.  I'm 10w4d today and everything is still going good.  I pray every day all day.  Keep your faith and stay positive and everything will be just fine.

Take Care ~ Debbie~

Thanks, everyone, for your heartfelt messages and support.  I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see everyone caring about me:)  YIkes, it's amazing how many of us have gone through so much during pregnancy.  I finally today allowed myself to buy pregnancy books (What to Expect When You're Expecting and Pregnancy AFter 35) - I was afraid of jinxing myself earlier - so hopefully what I read in the books will calm me down a bit as well - for instance there IS a section saying bleeding can be normal!  My next u/s is not until June 26th so I pray I have no updates for anyone until then!  I will be watching for positive updates from all of you.

I'm just now reading up on some of these posts and wanted to let you know that I have a 3.5 week old baby and this is after a major bleeding episode at 11 weeks that sent me to the ER. Turns out it was a subchorionic bleed...had one in my last pregnancy as well and he's 7 years old now :0)

Best of luck to you!!!

Wow fantastic news !!! I know I had some bleeding around the same time that totally shook me up.  And it went away as fast as it came. And it never has happened again. It sounds like the baby is doing really well and I really hope that the rest of your preganancy is totally uneventful!

Just got back from OB/GYN and he said all is fine and my chances are excellent!  7weeks3days today; heartbeat 140bpm.  STARTING to relax a LITTLE and feel happiness versus just all stress.  Still not breathing a sigh of relief, though!

For all of you wondering about cramps (since I've had them nonstop), the doctor confirmed today that cramping is normal and my cramps in particular aren't an issue because they're not in a place that's related to the pregnancy (they are right at/below my left rib cage -- where you get cramps sometimes when you go running).  The ones that COULD be a problem are in lower abdomen.

Melanie, THANK YOU!  I'm kind of surprised my doctor didn't mention that!  It's so good to know it's actually a GOOD sign - who would've thought.  Unfortunately, I'm a nervous basket case regardless so I probably won't relax until I see the baby in my arms...but that definitely makes me feel much better.  Best of luck to you in - wow! - 3 days!  Congrats!

I'm glad the bleeding has stopped!  I just wanted to tell you that I too had some bleeding the first moring of week 8.  I bled all day and the day after it had stopped. I was freaking out!  Here, read the article in the link below, it really helped me relax about the bleeding.  Read the paragraph:  the embryo: burrowing in

Hope this helps, good luck  :)

Thanks to you both.  I've had no more spotting since yesterday afternoon and cramping has subsided a little so I'm hoping I've just got one of those pregnancies in which bleeding is normal.  Do you think it's a good sign that the bleeding has stopped and cramps have eased up a bit?  I have a OB/GYN appt tomorrow and hopefully another u/s so I will know more then.  Carpediem, I saw your post - your story about your u/s was so cute - hope I make it to that point as well!  Congratulations to you both on your pregnancies.

Thanks to everyone, xoxo.  I'm so happy for you, Delma and Guiness413, that you made it through the threat!  Helen, I had seen that you are in the same boat and my thoughts are with you as well.  Guiness413, thanks for coming back onto this site to give support to those of us still trying - even though you already have your baby!
Off to bed.  Update - no blood second half of day but the same cramp in my left side won't go away.  Doc said cramps could go away or they could be my body's way of rejecting the baby.  In the event that cramps persist but bleeding stops for good, I sure hope he's wrong since I"ve heard cramps can be normal during first trimester.
