Swelling feet issues.

On thursday I will be 27 weeks.  It seems lately that my feet have been swollen a lot, but not every day.  I do have a desk job, but get up every couple of hours and move around.   I also make sure that I get plenty of water.   So I'm concerned as to the culprit or if this is typically going to be normal.   Last night feet were really swollen and this morning I can't say the swelling went down that much!

I am at 38 weeks and I just started to have swelling in my lower extremities. I was worried about my blood pressure but I found out today that it is normal. I was also a little worried about pre-eclampsia as I started to get headaches at the same time. However the doctor said that headaches can occur with contractions. Everything seemed to have started on 4 days ago. I hope this means I will go into labor soon.

I am just keeping my feet up, drinking water and avoiding salt. I will try the cool water bath for my feet. Sounds nice as Germany is so "hot" right now.

Hi Yvette,
Call your doctor. You need to check your BP ASAP. I don't want to alarm you but it could be a sign of pre-enclampsia and if so, you and your baby could be in danger. It never hurts to err on the side of caution.

Barefoot and pregnant???? lol  It seems like I have heard that somewhere b4, hee hee.  Try drinking cranberry juice, too. It's natural diuretic properties may help.

I have heard that if you soak your body in cool water for about 30 minutes it helps with swelling. It sends some kind of message to your kidney's and it aids in the decreasing of the swelling.

Glad to hear you get to go barefoot most of the time!!! I am the same way. When I leave the house it only flip flops for this girl!!

Keep drinking your water and try to prop up your feet when you get a chance!!!! !

LOL!!   I am at that place right now when I leave the house.  I tried some shoes the other day and they were way too tight.     Since I work from home I'm barefoot about 100% of the time, so fortunatley shoes aren't an issue.   But that's all I wear these days.

OMG Yvette towards the end of my pregnancy (prob closer to 30-33 weeks) my ankles and feet were so swollen all the time!  I had to get a doctors note to wear flip flops to work cause my normal shoes wouldn't fit!
