The midwife called me

by Jenny5, Feb 27, 2008 08:21AM
I just got a call from the midwife that saw me yesterday. She called about the sono result and the blood work. First she said that it's still early but it doesn't look good since they could only see the sac with nothing on it.So they not sure if the pregnancy will continue. Second she wants me in tomorrow to repeat the beta to see if it's doubling or not. Yesterday level was 24461 from 3345 on feb.15 I think that should be a little more. Anyway she wants to repeat the beta tomorrow so let's see what happens.

Is it possible for the beta to rise when the sac is empty? With my two m/c the beta didn't go more than 8000 even with a heartbeat with the second pregnancy.I really don't know what to think. I cryed so much last night thinking of the sono. and with my husband hugging me and saying he loves me i was crying even more. I feel so bad everytime i see him. He has been so excited with each and every pregnancy and always ended in dissappointment.

dont worry. I have been reading many posts. And found that some times the heart beat can be seen after 10 weeks. so lets hope for the best. God is there. The HCG levels are rising, thats a good sign.
So try not to worry. I know thats not very easy but please hang in there.
Pray to the God. Miracles can happen.
Please let me know after you get the next beta result

Try to stay positive.  Increasing HCG is a really good sign.  Were the ultrasounds done vaginally?  That usually makes a difference.  If they were and you still didn't see anything, don't count yourself out yet.  Science is good to a point but it is far from knowing everything about the human body.  Anything is possible.  Keep believing and hang in there.  I know how hard this is.  After 3 m/c myself, the feeling is all too familiar.  Have faith that things will turn out just the way they were meant to be.  Good luck and blessings to you.

I think you're fine, I work in the hospital that cared for me last year, and I looked at my levels and at 8wk&2days, last year my levels were 71,180, if you do the math, you seem to be right in the area you should be, especially if they're doubling every 2-3 days.  Think about it.  (if I'm not mistaking we're like the same exact number of days pregnant) so yesterday you were 6wks&5days, meaning you have 11 more days to get to 8 weeks&2days........and if they double every 2-3 days, then you'e be around where I was at 8wk&2days.......I did the calculations, even if you doubled every 3 days, you'd be at 73383 at 8wks&2days..............now of course being as though everyone is different these figures aren't etched in stone, BUT just to help you with some hope I wanted to throw those figures out.............Be sure to let us know how your numbers are tomorrow.  I just can't believe at 6 weeks she would make ANY assumptions, it just seems so unreal.........I REALLY think overall before you make ANY decisions you need a second opinion.

We're all here praying for you

The sono was done vaginally and  i'm not gonna do anything until the hcg starts dropping or i have bleeding or any other problem. For the moment i have no pain or cramping or anything else. So regardless of what  the doctors say it's gonna take time before i do anything. Is still early to go to conclusions. This is my third pregnancy and i'm familiar with many things.

I really wish you the best of luck, however in several of my empty sacs my HCG rose.  In one case, they even doubled.

Please keep ups posted and think positive thoughts.
