Thinking about pregnancy at age 41

I've never gotten pregnant. I tried several years ago but they found a uterine polyp.
I had a semi nervous breakddown which I think was due to the progesterone.
I would like to ttc but am currently on 3-6 mg of lorazepam a day.
I know I have to stop that medication before trying.
Should I go for a checkup first before ttc?

A complete physical before TTC is a great idea.  I was 38 when I first started TTC and I know it sure set my mind at ease.  I also agree with still, if you have tried before without success, its a great idea to see a specialist now.  Good luck to you!

You should actually go see a Reproductive Endocrinologist to make sure that everything is okay to conceive. I am 38 and I ttc for 12 months before going to see one. It only took him 2 months to figure out what we needed to do. We only needed a precription and a trigger shot to release the mature follicles. I wished I would not have waited so long to check have all of the testing done. At our age there really is not time to waste as chances of complications increase with every year we get older! Best wishes to you!!
