Trying to stay healthy and away from sick people vent ...

I am trying my best to stay healthy and NOT get sick. (I did have the flu when I was PG before- and I was extremely sick- got dehydrated and it sent me into early EARLY labor- and thus by ambulance with an OB in it- and into the hospital on Magnesium Sodium.)
Anyhow- today I have a dr. appt and in addition- I want to go to the clinic and wait for my free H1N1 shot. Told my partner this the other day- very impt. to me.
Well- his teen son has been sick for a few weeks. Like 3 weeks ago- I told dp that teen should go to the Dr. DP says he will be fine- as he was around a lot of cig smoke- and will get better. He finally took him to Dr. last week. (yes, contagious and I don't want it- so I have been using hand sanitizer- etc.) Dr. gave buncha meds. I hear him telling his dad 3 days later that he has not been taking the meds as he doesn't like how they make him feel. Dad merely says- then you won't get better. Teen again - I think- starts to take meds. I tell partner that missing the dose that long will prob. mean he will have to get another appt- and another script. Well- 7 days later- teen is still sick- home from school today and dp wants me to take him back to the Dr. (as he is at work.) His dr. is about a half hour away- and I tell dp that I have the above- but can do it later in the day- and he will more than likely be home form work by then. PLUS I really am trying to avoid teen- as I don't want to be SICK- and I was already having some sypmtoms last night. (Teen's habits aren't the best- he likes to spit nasty things in the sink- etc- which dad has told to STOP and do in toilet- sorry TMI.) I just loaded teen up with meds- has a refill left (and I guess he is getting the hint that if you don't take- you don't get better) and some OTC stuff- liquids and he is in bed now. Yes- I want him to get better- so of course I feel badly but I don't really want to miss one of my appts ... as I would have taken him three weeks ago before things went from bad to worse. And no- no one else can take teen to Dr. except the two of us. DP is like well can't you take teen early (which is when I am going for the shot) - can't you do this or that ... I don't WANT to go for the shot LATER - as I am afraid they will run out!

Thanks. I am back from my shot- and getting ready to go to the Dr now ...
Waited 3 hrs this morning- freezing! (See my other post under H1N1.)
I guess I am becoming a real hormonal witch- cause why are you supposedly worried about your health- BUT will stand in line and smoke like two packs of cigarettes???
