My Dr. said to take Unisom to help relieve some of the nausea.  I have been really sick. Very close to going to hospital.  I am on Zofran, Prima Bella and B6.  I have not slept in weeks.  Dr. Suggested 1/2 of one. Does it really help? I need to sleep and feel well, my whole family is suffering.

Yes - don't let your belly get too empty - I noticed that as well - and also if I ate large meals as I was starving - always seemed to make me get sick as well!

I did that. it's better to snack or "graze" throughout the day. that way your stomach is never empty yet not too full either.

Thanks everyone!

I did try the accupuncture wrist bands but was not really sure they were working.  That is when my Dr. told me about the Prima Bella which is a wrist band that sends a signal to your brain to get rid of the nausea and vomitting.  You do need a prescription for it. It does work better then the bands. EmsMom-You may want to ask your doctor about it. It is sometimes covered by insurance because it is considered a medical device.

I also noticed that if I allow my stomach to get totally empty I am worse.  Has anyone else noticed that?  Although it is hard to eat, I think I am worse without anything on my stomach.

Other than unisom you can take benadryl or any of a number of antinausea meds
you can take 1/2 of one and see if it helps you sleep and if it doesn't you can try 1 as long as your dr ok's it.

talk to your dr about phenergan for nausea. You can also get phenergan suppositories if you can't physically keep the med down. B6 never worked for me, if you can't take your vitamins try flinstones gummies, they're better than nothing.

I threw up for 25 weeks in my first pregnancy and was nearly hospitalized several times and nothing worked. my 2nd pregnancy my dr gave me phenergan and it helped quite a bit. I was only sick for a week or two

My Dr. prescribed me Unisom to take with Vitamin B6, I could only take it at night time since it knocked me out. It helped me, but maybe that was becasue I was sleeping and wasn't up throwing up all the time. My Dr. told me to take a whole Unisom though, not a 1/2. Sorry to hear that your not feeling well, I know how that goes, I'm currently 21 weeks and still throwing up, I'm now taking Zofran to help me out but that sometimes wont even work. Also if the Unisom doesn't work for you you might want to try accupuncture wrist bands found at the drug store, I havn't tried them yet but that's my next step if these pills won't work for me. Hope you feel better, and hope this helps!

Does your dr know you are taking all of these together.... How far along are you and it could possibley be that you are taking too much meds that could be contributing to your inablity to sleep and increase your nausea.  I was very sick this pregnancy until about 13 weeks - then things improved... if you lose 10% of your prepregnancy body weight ...then they usually become concearned... how much have you lost?  I am sorry you are going through both of these - I take benedryl  sometimes so I can sleep - and only ginger ale when my stomach hurts - but I have not had both at the same time..
