Hello everyone, I am new to the group. I am 35 yrs., pregnant with my seventh child and very nauseous! I was sick with all of them but maybe with my age, it seems more difficult to deal with. I am 9 weeks, so hopefully I only have three more weeks of this yucky feeling. What has worked for any of you who have experienced the dreaded morning (all day) sickness? My doctor prescribed ZofranZofran Zofran odt but it gives me headaches and doesn't seem to provide much relief. Thanks!
I know exactly how you feel, there is another medication the doctor could give you (forgot the name) ZofranZofran Zofran odt did not work for me either. I also know that shaves of gingerGinger Ginger root could help as well vitamin b-6. None of these worked for me, and after winding up in the ER twiceTwice-a-day, I was diagnosed with hypernemesis (something like that anyway) which means extreme vomiting and nausea. It did stop after I hit three months, but after all that, I lost my baby at 5 months. relax and take it easy, it should subside but drink plenty of fluids so you don't become dehydrated. If you become achy or you feel your bones hurt, chances are you are dehydrated and need fluids through an IV. Good luck. Hope I helped.
I had the same problem - couldn't use the ZofranZofran Zofran odt as it made me extremely constipated. My doc prescribed REGLAN. It is actually used for all sorts of things including morning sickness, migraines, and even helps stimulate a bowel movement in diabetics (we have some issues in that department).
I only have had morning sickness for very short stints, but lemon helped me. If you can stand it, suck on a fresh lemon slice. It its too tart for you, squeezing fresh lemon into a glass of water works as well. I also froze the slices and used them as ice cubes. I don't know anything about the medications described by other posters, but for a few days my ms was very severe and lasted all day. This, along with trying to eat something every hour or two made a huge difference for me. I wish you luck, and I hope it passes soon.
I hope this helps!!
