Are you nursing the babies? I had an infection while nursing my youngest and as I remember (he is now 13 years old), you need to make sure to keep the milk flowing....pump that breast every few hours and nurse off the other side until it feels less sore. The antibiotics should take care of it I would imaging. If you can call a nurse hotline, or speak to a nurse at the hospital it would probably be a good idea!
I had mastitis w/my first child - OMG, it was the most painful, awful thing so bless your heart! The fever/pain/'chills are most certainly symptomatic of mastitis since it's an infection. I think you should go to your ER and get some meds. I would think the Augmentin would take care of it but it sounds like you need a different med.
I hope you feel better soon!!! Do as nannie says too and try to get the milk out of that breast or it'll get engorged. I feel so bad for you - take care, jen
Congrats on your twins!
